It’s Leap Day, that extra day we get every four years. Take a break and enjoy yourself – Here are 5 ways to spend the extra day…
1. Go to a museum and explore their new exhibit
Museums are always bringing in new exhibits, shows or collections. Find out what the schedules of your local museums are and spend the day exploring the new exhibits. What’s a better way to start your week off than by learning something new?
2. Explore a market
Markets offer everything from food and fashion to antiques and even oddities that you didn’t know you needed until you saw. Spending your extra day exploring a market that you’ve never been to or one that you love is a fun and low-key way to start your week off. Plus, some flea markets and food festivals are seasonal so you should take advantage of them while you can!
3. Sign up for a workout class you’ve never done
Barre? Boxing? Boot camp? Bikram? Try a class that you’ve never done and who knows – maybe you’ll love it!
4. Purge your closet
Take your extra day and be productive! Go through your closet and get rid of anything you haven’t worn in a year and anything you don’t think you’ll wear. A good rule of thumb is if it’s versatile then there’s a higher chance that you’ll wear it. If it’s a statement piece and you haven’t worn it in a while then it’s just taking up space. 5. Read a book you’ve been meaning to read
Spend the day indulging in a new (or past favorite) book that you’ve been meaning to read. If you’re looking for ideas, spend some time exploring your local bookstore or library to find new authors.
